The most famous gap in art history.
Michelangelo finished the Sistine ceiling around 1512, and the few centimetres between two hands became one of the most reproduced images ever made. The print keeps the fresco's warm plaster ground rather than cutting the figures out onto white.

The plaster stays
Most reproductions isolate the two hands and lose the wall. We kept the cracked fresco surface, the age of it and the slight discolouration, because that texture is what tells you this is a five hundred year old ceiling and not a graphic.

Positioned, not scattered
The composition is placed so the gesture lands on the outer panel where it can actually be read, instead of being tiled across the shoe at random.

Finished by hand
Each pair is lasted, bonded and trimmed by hand, then cured overnight before it is inspected and boxed.
Final run. This design was produced in a single limited batch and will not be reprinted. Once a size sells out it is gone for good.
