The mark that means finished.
In East Asian painting the work is not complete until the artist presses a carved seal in vermilion paste onto the surface. It is a signature, a claim of authorship and a full stop at once. This pair is built around that single mark.
One red square
Everything else on the shoe is quiet so the seal has somewhere to land. It is the smallest piece of artwork in the collection and the only one that carries the whole design on its own.
The house mark
The seal is why the brand is called what it is. Every Manofatto pair is finished by hand and marked as finished. This one just says it out loud.
