Painted first, printed second.
Watercolour is the least forgiving medium to reproduce, because most of what makes it beautiful is the part where the pigment thins out and the paper shows through. We printed at a resolution that keeps those edges soft instead of sharpening them into hard lines.
Where the wash breaks
The interesting area of any watercolour is the bloom, the place where two wet washes meet and settle unevenly. Those blooms are preserved across the upper rather than cleaned up, which is why the green shifts in weight from panel to panel.
Neutral where it counts
Sole, laces and lining are kept off-white so nothing competes with the painting. The shoe is a frame, not a second artwork.
Hand-finished
Trimmed, glued and pressed by hand, then checked under a lamp before boxing. Every pair passes through a person, not just a conveyor.
Final run. This design was produced in a single limited batch and will not be reprinted. Once a size sells out it is gone for good.
