Movement, written as pattern.
The auspicious cloud is one of the oldest decorative motifs in East Asian art, used for centuries to suggest travel, ascent and good fortune. We printed it across a silk-touch upper and let it wrap the panels without breaking, so the pattern reads as one continuous line from heel to toe.

Pattern that follows the panel
Most printed shoes are cut from a single sheet of fabric, which chops the artwork wherever the blade lands. Ours is positioned before cutting, panel by panel, so the curves meet at the seams instead of colliding with them. It is slower to make and it is the reason no two pairs align identically.

Finished by hand
Each upper is lasted, glued and pressed by hand in a small workshop rather than stamped by machine. The edges are trimmed under a lamp and the sole is bonded under weight, then cured overnight before the pair is boxed.

Built for actual wear
A cushioned memory-foam insole and a vulcanised rubber outsole sit under all that artwork. These are made to be worn on pavement, not kept in a display case.
Final run. This design was produced in a single limited batch and will not be reprinted. Once a size sells out it is gone for good.
